Story behind the name: 'Netra'

When I established my coaching business, I knew I didn’t want it to be built around my name alone

I envisioned NETRA as a collaborative space; a place where I could work alongside other professional coaches and bring different perspectives, expertise and experiences together.

But I also wanted a name that carried an energy of its own. Something that could live beyond me and leave a lasting impact.

Having lived in Dubai, I was fortunate to be surrounded by people from many different cultures. Through friendships and conversations, I became fascinated by Sanskrit, one of the world’s oldest languages and a language deeply connected to the history, philosophy and cultural traditions and still being used today.

What I found particularly beautiful about Sanskrit is the depth and richness of its words. A single word can carry layers of meaning, connecting language with ideas, values and ways of seeing the world.

That’s how I discovered NETRA.

In Sanskrit, Netra means “eye” and is also associated with leading or guiding.

For me, both meanings beautifully capture what coaching is about.

Seeing differently. Seeing more. And finding new ways forward.

Coaching invites us to broaden our perspective, notice what we may not have seen before, and lead ourselves and others with greater awareness.
